Skipton service station targeted by thieves in ram raid

Warrnambool police Sergeant James van Engelen said the raid happened at 4.25am Thursday at the BP roadhouse on the Glenelg Highway.

“A Holden ute was used to ram glass doors at the BP roadhouse and there was a second dark Commodore sedan at the roadhouse at the same time,” he said.

“Three men wearing face coverings and gloves entered the premises and used an angle grinder to remove cabinets from the wall containing the cigarettes.

“Cash was also stolen. A witness saw the ute being driven off. One of the vehicles was found burnt out about four kilometres from the service station.”

Warrnambool detectives have just arrived at the crime roadhouse and it’s expected that crime scene officers will also attend to collect evidence.

Anyone with information is requested to contact the Warrnambool police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
