Man in coma after Lidcombe service station ‘assault’

The hunt is on for a man suspected of bashing another man at a service station in Sydney’s west.
The alleged attack took place outside a Westside petrol station on Vaughan Street in Lidcombe about 10.30pm yesterday.
The suspected attacker bought a soft drink, noodles, and a winning scratchie ticket.

“The guy came to the service station to get the stuff — and he just brought the stuff and he was walking out and he get into an argument with another guy,” one witness said.
A 24-year-old man was found with a serious head injury and taken to Westmead Hospital.
“They just started punching each other,” the witness said.
Police believe the two men were strangers.
The wounded man is in an induced coma.
Police are hoping to speak to a man described as being of Asian appearance, about 30 years old, of medium build, with short black hair.
He was last seen wearing a black jumper, cream shorts, white shoes, and a black face mask.
