Young is the most expensive place in the region to fill up

Young remains to have the most expensive petrol prices in the area sitting nearly 20 cents a litre ahead of the cheapest in the region.

As of Monday morning the cheapest place in Young to fill up with E10 was the Metro where motorists were paying 118.9 cents per litre according to the Fuel Check app.

Next best in Young was the BP, Westside Petroleum, Caltex Roadhouse and the Caltex Woolworths where the price sat at 119.9 cents per litre before any discounts.

Young’s prices were more expensive than surrounding towns with E10 in Grenfell only 99.9 cents per litre at both Lachlan Fertiliser and the Metro, in Harden 110.9 cents per litre at the Ultra and only 117.9 cents per litre at the United in Cowra.

However compared to the rest of the state Young was right smack bang in the middle of the pack with the cheapest place in the state to buy E10 on Monday the Speedway in Fairfield where drivers paid 92.9 cents per litre and the most expensive in NSW was the Coles Express at Bulli with 139.9 cents per litre.

Motorists in Young paid 120.9 at the Metro for Unleaded 91, 121.9 cents per litre at South West Fuels, Westside Petroleum and the Caltex Roadhouse.

Across the region motorists paid 107.9 cents per litre at the Metro in Grenfell, 112.9 cents per litre in Harden and 119.9 cents per litre at the United and Shell in Cowra.

It was a similar story in regards to premium unleaded with locals paying 140.9 cents per litre at the Metro in Young, 141.9 at South West Fuels, Westside Petroleum, Caltex Woolworths and the Caltex Roadhouse and 142.9 cents per litre at the BP in Young.

In Grenfell motorists were paying 126.9 cents per litre at the Metro, 127.9 cents per litre at South West Fuels in Murrumburrah and 140.9 at the United in Cowra.

The diesel prices in Young were still higher than the majority of the region as well with local users paying 124.9 cents per litre at the Metro in Young, 125.9 at South West Fuels in Young and 125.9 cents per litre at the Caltex Roadhouse on Monday morning.

Compared to the 115.9 cents per litre charged by Lachlan Fertilisers in Grenfell and Harden Fuel Supplies both Young and Cowra (123.9 cents per litre at the United) motorists were paying a lot more than they needed to.

The trend continued with Premium Diesel costing locals 126.9 cents per litre at Westside Petroleum, Metro Young and Caltex Woolworths and 127.9 at the BP in Young while motorists in Grenfell were only paying 114.9 cents per litre at the Metro and Ultra at Harden. In Cowra the price was set for majority of servos at 124.9 cents per litre before any discounts.
